Infills are required to maintain the health of your natural lashes and of course to keep those new eyelash extensions looking their absolute best. With any type of lash extensions we would recommend a lash fill around every 2-3 weeks. This is because as your natural lashes grow out, the eyelash extensions grow out with them,  without maintaining them causes your natural lashes to become stressed. The weight at the end of the natural lash would put them under strain and can cause breakage. 

It is important that after your very first lash appointment it follows with an infill around 2 weeks after the initial application, this is so we can determine your lash growth cycle and of course the overall happiness of your natural lash.  We understand that every clients lifestyle are different and in most cases some of you can go 2 weeks between infills and others can go 3 weeks. So it is important to adjust your infills appointments accordingly to suit your lifestyle. Whilst its normal to lose some extensions we have added some information on how to better retain your new lashes for longer and some factors that could be effecting them. What will happen at my infill appointment?

Any outgrown lashes are removed without damage to your natural lashes followed by a lash cleanse. This is a special lash shampoo which can be used even for the most sensitive of eyes. Once this process is completed then filling up your natural lashes begins. We would hope you have around 40% of your extensions on arrival to your infill appointment as we allow specific times to complete infills. In some cases when the eyelashes may have not been properly cared for or during lash shedding season infills may need be increased. With that in mind we created the 'Mini Fill.'

Whats a Mini Fill?

This appointment is bookable online and will give you an extra 30-45 minutes depending on your lash style in between your normal infill appointments to top up your lashes. This is great for those events where you simply cant have any missing extensions or if you are going through your lash shedding cycle. Mini fills are not ideal for long term maintenance, outgrown extensions are not removed as usual in a normal infill appointment and this can cause damage to your natural lashes. Which is why we only suggest mini fills as a quick top up in between your normal infill appointments. Ideal when we are going on holiday and needed an extra boost or experiencing lash shedding!

What is Lash shedding?

The average person will shed 1-5 eyelashes per day but unfortunately twice a year our lashes go through a much more shedding process, this is typically in spring & the autumn months. This is a completely normal process and is regardless if you have eyelash extensions or not! This is a normal lash cycle where the lashes reach their adult stage and shed to start over again. This is when we see our new baby lashes. Thankfully this does not happen all at once but when you notice your extensions do not seem to be retaining and come off your natural lash will be attached.  Although this can be frustrating don't not panic it is completely normal and will only last 1-2 lash cycles (4-8 weeks).
